Most trade copiers have one job: get the trade onto the other account. That is fine right up until the copier does its job perfectly and blows your funded account anyway. Trade Dispensary 4.0 is the release that closes that gap, with a per-account risk guard that stops trading before a breach rather than reporting one afterwards.

TL;DR

Trade Dispensary 4.0 adds a per-account Risk Guard that flattens an account and stops copying to it the moment a daily loss limit, trailing drawdown or daily order cap is breached. The other accounts keep trading. It also adds live balance reading on NinjaTrader through Add-On 7.2, browser-driven copying into DXtrade prop firms with no API keys, and a dashboard you can drive entirely from the keyboard. Still one licence, still $129, still no subscription.

If you copy one signal to six prop accounts, you have multiplied your edge by six. You have also multiplied your risk by six. And prop firms do not hand out warnings. At most futures firms, exceeding your maximum drawdown closes the account immediately, with no second chances.

Version 2.0 was about getting trades there fast. Version 3.0 was about getting them there correctly. Version 4.0 is about knowing when to stop.

What is new in Trade Dispensary 4.0?

Four things: a per-account Risk Guard with automatic flatten, live account balances on every supported platform including NinjaTrader, browser-driven copying to DXtrade prop firms with no API keys, and a rebuilt dashboard that works entirely from the keyboard.

Everything from 3.x carries forward unchanged. Speed Mode, Price Translate, managed futures contracts with one-click rollover, Telegram signal parsing and automated OCO bracket orders all work exactly as they did.

Why does a trade copier need a risk guard?

Because a copier scales your mistakes as efficiently as it scales your wins. One bad session copied to six accounts is six breaches, not one. And a growing number of prop firms now leave the limit entirely up to you.

That is not a hypothetical. FundedSeat does not enforce a daily loss limit during evaluation on any of its 1-Step models, and every account at Funded Futures Family runs with zero daily loss limit and no buffer requirement.

That sounds generous. It is not. It means you can burn your entire drawdown cushion in a single session with nothing standing in the way. The firm will let you do it.

There is a second reason, and it is about staying compliant rather than staying solvent. Copying between accounts you own is allowed at most firms, but identical sub-second fills across firms are a classic detection flag, so you need realistic execution and per-account limits. Per-account limits are exactly what the Risk Guard gives you. Worth reading next to our guide on prop firm copy trading rules.

How does the Risk Guard work?

You set three optional limits per account: a daily loss limit, a trailing drawdown floor, and a daily order cap. Trade Dispensary checks each account against its own limits on a background timer. When one breaches, that account is flattened and copying to it stops until the next trading day.

The important words are "per account". Each account carries its own limits and its own state. If your evaluation breaches at 11am, your funded account and your live MT5 account keep trading normally. Nothing else is touched.

Three design decisions worth knowing about:

  • It never delays a trade. Balance checks run on their own schedule, outside the execution path. An order is never held up waiting for a balance lookup.
  • It refuses to guess. If Trade Dispensary cannot read a real balance for an account, it will not enforce a limit on it. A guard acting on a bad number is worse than no guard at all, so the account is marked unguardable and tells you why.
  • It resets on the trading day. Daily limits roll over with the trading session, not the calendar date.

This complements position sizing rather than replacing it. Our post on risk management in copy trading covers the sizing half of the problem.

Can a trade copier read your NinjaTrader balance?

It can now. Trade Dispensary 4.0 reads live account values straight out of NinjaTrader through Add-On 7.2, so NinjaTrader accounts can be risk-guarded like every other platform, and balances appear on the account cards in the dashboard.

This one needed care. A disconnected NinjaTrader account reports its net liquidation as zero while its cash balance sits untouched. A naive guard would read that as "this account just lost everything" and flatten a perfectly healthy position because a data feed hiccuped.

So the reader will not return a value at all unless NinjaTrader confirms the account is genuinely connected. If the platform is closed or the feed drops, the account reports as unguardable instead of reporting zero.

NinjaTrader users need to re-import NinjaTraderAddOn.zip to pick this up. The dashboard now shows the detected Add-On version on each NinjaTrader card and flags when an update unlocks a feature, so you are never guessing whether you are current. More on that platform in our NinjaTrader copy trading guide.

Copying into DXtrade prop firms without API keys

DXtrade is a white-label platform used by a large number of prop firms, including TradersLaunch and FundedSeat. The catch for traders is that the firm controls API access, and most of them do not hand it out.

Trade Dispensary works around this by driving a real browser session on your own machine. You log in the way you normally would. The copier then operates the platform the same way you would, just faster and without ever getting distracted.

That means market entries and full flatten exits on DXtrade destinations with no API key, no developer account and no permission needed from the firm. We covered the original integration in the Deepcharts trade copier announcement.

One honest limitation. DXtrade web exposes a full flatten but not a partial exit, so a partial close on your source becomes a full close on a DXtrade destination. Every other destination platform handles partials properly. We would rather you read that here than discover it mid-trade.

The partial close problem most copiers still have

Here is a scenario that catches people out. You are long six contracts. You scale out two, planning to run the rest. What does your copier do on the destination?

Plenty of them get this wrong. Some ignore partial exits entirely. Some close the whole position. The worst outcome is a copier that sends a closing order sized against a position it has not finished updating, which can flip your destination account into a fresh trade in the opposite direction.

This is not a niche complaint. COPYLOT, a long-standing MetaTrader copier, does not support partial close on MT5 at all and requires orders to be closed in the same lot sizes they were opened.

Trade Dispensary treats a partial exit as a partial exit on every destination except DXtrade web. It also shrinks any protective stop before reducing the position, so you never hold a stop order covering more contracts than you still own. Laddered take profits are rebuilt on the destination in the destination's own size, or copied rung by rung where the platform can only hold one target at a time.

We found and closed several edge cases here using a purpose-built race test rig rather than waiting for customers to trip over them. That work ships in this release.

Four setups people actually run

The feature list matters less than what you can build with it.

One signal, many funded accounts. Take a TradingView alert or a Telegram signal and push it to several prop accounts at once. Apex supports up to 20 accounts simultaneously, which is the single most common reason people buy a copier. The Risk Guard now gives each of those accounts its own leash.

Evaluation and funded, side by side. Run a passing evaluation and a live funded account off the same strategy at different sizes. Multiplier-based sizing handles the difference.

CFD strategy into a futures account. You trade a gold CFD on MT5 but your funded account is micro gold futures. Price Translate queries real futures prices so stops and targets land where you meant them, instead of being copied across at CFD prices.

Telegram signals, hands off. Point Trade Dispensary at a channel and it parses signals by rule, including images via OCR. No AI, no bot permissions, no channel admin rights needed. Covered fully in automating Telegram trading signals.

What a one-time licence actually saves you

Trade Dispensary is $129 once. No subscription, no per-account charge, and no lockout if you stop paying, because there is nothing to stop paying.

Compare that to the market. Futures trade copiers typically charge $40 to $150 per month, and TradeSyncer's three tiers run $49, $99 and $149 a month. At the cheapest end that is $588 a year.

So a $129 licence pays for itself in about three months against the cheapest tier. Over three years it is roughly $129 against $1,764.

There is a second, less obvious saving. Trade Dispensary runs on your own machine rather than a shared cloud service, so your fills do not share an IP fingerprint with strangers. That matters more than price when a firm reviews your payout. We covered why in local copy trading for prop firms, and the full cost breakdown lives in trade copier with no monthly fee.

The boring fix that might matter most

While rebuilding the dashboard for 4.0 we found the entire left navigation was unreachable by keyboard. You could see it. You could not tab to it. Anyone using the app without a mouse was locked out of most of it.

That is fixed. Every control in the dashboard is now reachable and operable from the keyboard.

It is not a headline feature and it will not sell a licence. It was still shipping broken, so it got fixed.

Getting started

Three things to take away. If you copy to more than one prop account, a copier without per-account limits is doing half the job. Version 4.0 makes NinjaTrader and DXtrade first-class destinations rather than partial ones. And the maths on a one-time licence stops being close at around the three month mark.

Existing customers: 4.0 is a free update, as every update has been. Download the latest build and re-import NinjaTraderAddOn.zip if you use NinjaTrader.

Frequently asked questions

What is a prop firm trade copier?

A prop firm trade copier is software that takes a trade from one source account and replicates it across multiple proprietary trading firm accounts automatically. It handles the differences between accounts, such as position size, symbol names and platform, so you place a trade once instead of six times. Copying between accounts you personally own is permitted at almost every major futures prop firm, while copying somebody else's trades is not.

Will a trade copier get my funded account flagged?

Copying across accounts you own is generally allowed, but each firm enforces its own rules per account. The main risk is that identical sub-second fills across several firms look mechanical, so per-account limits and a local copier rather than a shared cloud service both reduce that exposure. Always check your specific firm's current terms before you scale up.

What does the Trade Dispensary Risk Guard actually do?

It monitors each account against its own daily loss limit, trailing drawdown floor and daily order cap. When an account breaches a limit, that account is flattened and copying to it stops until the next trading day. Every other account carries on trading unaffected. No limit is ever enforced on an account whose balance cannot be read reliably, because acting on a bad number is worse than not acting at all.

Can Trade Dispensary read my NinjaTrader account balance?

Yes, from version 4.0 with NinjaTrader Add-On 7.2 or later. Balances appear on the account cards and NinjaTrader accounts can be risk-guarded like any other platform. The reader will not return a value unless NinjaTrader confirms the account is connected, because a disconnected NinjaTrader account reports its net liquidation as zero while cash sits untouched.

Can I copy trades to DXtrade prop firms like TradersLaunch or FundedSeat?

Yes. Trade Dispensary drives a real browser session on your own machine, so it needs no API key and no permission from the firm. It supports market entries and full flatten exits. Partial closes are not available on DXtrade web because the platform itself only exposes a full flatten, so a partial exit on your source becomes a full close on a DXtrade destination.

Does Trade Dispensary charge a monthly subscription?

No. It is a single payment of $129 for a one-time licence, with lifetime updates included. Futures trade copiers commonly charge between $40 and $150 per month, so at the cheapest end the licence pays for itself in about four months and saves roughly $1,310 over three years.
